Laser Cut F1 Car

This project aimed to design and construct a scale model car inspired by the 2018 Ferrari SF71H. The vehicle was powered by alkaline batteries and used a simple transmission system with a gear ratio of 4.2:1 to traverse a 10 ft distance as quickly as possible. The frame of the car was designed in Solidworks and laser-cut from 1/8” plywood. The design used finger joints to maximize the precision and stability of the assembly. The aesthetic components of the car such as the front and rear wings, streamlined body, and Ferrari red paint job, were inspired by the 2018 Ferrari F1 car The final vehicle successfully traversed the required distance and met all functional and aesthetic requirements.

My primary contributions to this project were the full CAD design, renderings, drawings, and video production.
